Shopping Centres are a Black Woman's Prison

Hi Ladies, I wanted to share my thoughts on a situation that has been bothering me for a while now. You might find it odd as to why i would choose a random day in the week to talk about issues but why not?
I get sick when I see a shopping centre being constructed, reason being that when it's done it virtually has to be manned by a marginalised and disenfranchised group of youth, more so Black women.
I drove past a shopping centre that was being constructed and I felt disgust and dread, at the fact that the people who will be working here when construction is complete are going to be students who failed Matric, passed Matric and did not have money to register at a Tertiary institution, failed to complete their qualification or worse case scenario passed and graduated at Tertiary level but because of the rapid increase of companies retreating into the less regulated private sector are being systematically excluded from decent office jobs. (We always see those type of  job posts 5-15 years experience needed..right?)
Contrary to what the dominant media might say about the retail sector producing jobs and therefore boosting employment stats, can you really say that these jobs in the retail sector do anything to effectively relieve poverty and crime?
When did u ever hear of someone who worked at a Woolies buying a house or car or owning assets of any kind? Can they afford proper medical aid? Can they afford school fees for their children? The answer is NO, jobs in the retail sector were NOT designed to free Black people from Slavery, it's a sly way to ensure that it continues to exist in some form or another.
The workers are being paid a wage that scarcely allow a person to afford menial things.
Oh no Gigi, *rolls eyes* why are you droning on about this?
Ask yourself this, despite S.A being a so-called rainbow nation, why is it that you never see White girls on Tills at Woolies, Checkers, Shoprite etc?
Have you ever seen an Indian woman or a Chinese woman on a till? why? The only time we ever see our 'cousins' behind a till is when they own the shop that the till is in.
Even that is becoming a scarcity because why man a till when you pay a Black woman fucken peanuts so you can chill elsewhere and come back when it's cash up time?
If you ever see any of our "cousins' working in the retail sector its usually as Supervisors and Managers and even then, they move on to better things.
This needs to change, we can't blame ‪#‎Zupta‬ and his rotten cabinet for all the problems we have, I also understand that with the limited resources we have its so hard to change the situation,
True it's challenging but not impossible.
We have Black Billionaires but they do nothing except stash their fortunes on off-shore accounts. They don't start scholarship funds or programs that will ensure a possibility in the future when you walk into a shop, you see nothing except for the items on sale and an Automated Till because it has virtually become impossible to get a Black person to agree to a pathetic Slave wage.
That is what's coming, Automation.Look's what's happening at Cinemas, Banks (dot FNB) soon it will be Petrol Stations and Grocery shops and then what?
Where are we going to be when Automation has virtually taken over the labour sector?
That's a conversation for another day but I urge you all, whether I tagged you in this post or not to think about this the next time you walk into a shop and you see a tired and cranky woman behind a till and then accuse her of having an 'attitude'.
I'm not saying that you should allow them to treat you like crap but be mindful too that essentially if you are working behind a till for a National and even Multi-National Corporation you are a Slave, the type is who is not even aware of it or even if you are aware there is virtually nothing you can do about it! So how can you expect a decent service?
As for the few who managed to escape the system because you were fortunate enough to have parents to bothered, bled and slaved to pay for your tuition are we just going to fold our hands and say " what can I do? I'm just one person, the Government needs to sort that out, It's not my fight, I helped someone once and they threw me under the bus" or whatever excuse comes to mind.
I urge you all to share this post and talk about it. Each person is powerful enough to effect some kind of Social change in one form or another, bit by bit and step by step.
The same applies to Black guys too but that's also a discussion for another time.
We don't need the government to eliminate poverty and income gap prevalent in Black communities, we need to become a self-sustaining community because that is what will give rise to more Scientists, Professors, Doctors, Lawyers, Astronauts, Engineers. I look forward to the extinction of the 'Black Female' stereotype.
No one will ever come up to you say, "You're quite ( fill in blank with positive word or adjective) for a Black woman.
Our "Cousins" did it, why can't we?
